Engraved Platter was created for the curated exhibition, NY Silver: Then and Now at the Museum of the City of New York. Invited artists made work in response to the museum’s historical silver collection. I focused on the engraved mark as a trace of hand - a deliberate incision that adorns as it assigns meaning. A tankard bears more than liquid; it represents family, a transaction, lineage. Engraving documents a moment, preserving it in silver.
